Fire House Tour

We took the kids to the Jefferson County Fire House yesterday (Sept 27). Colby loves Fire Trucks and wants to be a Fireman when he grows up (just look at his shoes). They learned about how to extinquish a fire, and both got to use a fire extinquisher. They learned about kitchen fires and learned how to escape from their house if there is smoke (crawling on the ground). They even got to crawl out of the window and down the ladder in the smoke trailer. But the most fun was the looking at the fire trucks and the little remote control fire truck. Colby couldn't quit smiling at him and didn't want to let go. What a fun day.

After going to the fire house, we went over to my parents house to help put siding up, and spend the day with Grandma, Grandpa and Great Grandma. Tom, Aimee, Jason (my brother), and Melvin (my bro-in-law) put up the siding.

Lexie was our little monkey up in the tree.

Later that night we BBQ'd hamburgers & hotdogs, sat around and enjoyed each other's company, and had banana splits for dessert. After dinner we played kick ball, adults vs kids, what fun. We (the adults) decided that this was more exercise than we had in a long time, but it was worth it to spend the day with family and enjoying each other.
